ARTIST STATEMENT

Through a process he calls “generative photography,”Al Miller documents a rich array of public images, and then processes the city’s socially loaded patterns and textures into kaleidoscopic paintings. His aim is to transform the detritus of consumer society into a shimmering, reflective portal that opens into new and imaginary worlds. In turning the material into the non-material, and utilizing sacred geometry to reclaim the future, this painting references Transformatist, Afofuturist notions.
